Redesigning a film festival celebrating the unique identity and burgeoning talent of contemporary Filipino filmmakers –
The design objective was to respectfully represent the Filipino experience (historical and current) simultaneously to a local and global audience. The main inspiration for the project is the nation’s sociopolitical resilience against various historical struggles such as, colonization and a corrupt and disorganized government.
The filmmakers featured, as well as the brand identity, expresses the distinct perspective fighting for Filipino integrity and against political censorship and global invisibility.
In the logo, the "Y" figure on its side echoes the main structure of the Philippine flag. As the logo's orientation changes, the "Y" stays the same, signifying the Filipino identity as the film festival's anchor.
